African Maasai Masai Beaded Necklace Snuff Pot?

Description

This little necklace was made by the Maasai people of Kenya. It is not like most of their necklaces that I have seen. I am not sure of its function, but it reminds me of their snuff pots. This is a guess. I am not sure, and I did not want to try and open the top. At any rate it is cute, colorful and shiny.
The container is about 1 3/4 inches tall and about 1 inch wide. Its overall length is a little over 12 inches.
