Harvey Avedon Art Deco Sterling Silver Card /Cigarette Box. American Designer Harvey Avedon was active c. 1940Â’s – 1965 in New York City, NY, designing and manufacturing sterling and gold menÂ’s jewelry and accessories that were marketed by high-end jewelry stores. This particular case design was marketed by both Cartier and Tiffany, and probably other high-end jewelry stores. Those sold by Cartier and Tiffany also typically bear these companies marks as well as the Avedon makers mark. This piece only has Avedon's marks. Case is made of heavy gauge silver, 3 ½ X 3 X 5/8 in. dimensions, weight: 3.6 Troy Ounces. marked “Avedon” and “Sterling”. Condition is very good with only light signs of wear appropriate for its age.
