Ryūsei Kaginawa, Falling Star Grappling Hook or "Meteor Hook" with 5 Meter Black Rope, Flag, and cinch Bag. A mixture of old world Ninja Weaponry and a little modern ingenuity for more power and versatility, this Ryūsei Kaginawa is small but packs a huge punch! A combination of a battle grappling hook and meteor hammer, used for striking and pulling enemies down from their horses or higher positions. The mechanical design serves a dual purpose... add weight for more strike without increasing size, and to absorb shock in the body of the weapon if it strikes a hard surface. Under the black wrap are 2 thick industrial strength silicone bands that work as shock absorbers to protect the weapon from breaking while still providing maximum force of impact. The Grappling Hook function is not really meant for climbing, it is a ninja weapon for pulling down cavalry riders or any other soldiers at higher positions... the hooks are only big enough to grab armor or catch a loop around an appendage. It is strong enough to hold a lot of weight, but as I said it is not made for climbing... Just for fun I made it look like a Bat-Grapplng Hook from one angle, as shown in the pics.
BASIC INFO: The "Meteor Hook" is tool steel that weighs about 12 ounces and measures 3 X 3 X 6 inches. Diamond braided polypropylene blend rope, very light and very strong. The rope itself will actually float on water, but is basically plastic so it will melt with a flame or excess heat. The handle is just an adjustable butterfly knot that cinches or releases quickly with ease. The flag is a thick cotton black flag with ornate white designs, attached with a carabiner so it easily clips on and off if desired. All wraps up and fits in the black velvet cinch bag shown in the pics.
Origins: Cavalry and Archer Defense Tool (added striking for Foot Soldier Defense). The Grappling part of the tool was originally made to pull Samurai from their mounts, or pull archers down from their mounts or other higher positions. With the upgrades it works as a meteor hammer as well, which would defend against foot soldiers with striking from a distance.
