My grandfather was born in Scotland just a stones throw away from Strathclyde in a village called Cunningham. Being there Is absolutely breathtaking as you take a view of the luscious green hills and valleys surrounding the city. And to imagine that at one time or another fire had destroyed it. But this is where Strathclyde Fire & Rescue was born.

Strathclyde was SFR. It was the largest fire and rescue service in Scotland, and one of the largest in Europe. Its territory ranged from the densely populated
Glasgow
to remote rural and island communities. It was amalgamated into the single
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service
in April 2013.
