VINTAGE Silver Plated Cigarette Case 1930s/40s Excellent Shape European?

Here is a vintage -- 1930s or 1940s -- Art Deco-ish silver-plated cigarette case. It has very appealing horizontal banding on both the top and bottom. Inside, it has separate compartments for the cigarettes and, presumably, matches--but I don't smoke so don't take that to the bank necessarily. The condition is excellent with no issues.  it is engraved "TT" and "Christmas 1946" as you can see in the photos.  There are also two makers marks: "33" and something I can not read; a professional jeweler could not provide any explanation for the markings, saying it may be European in origin albeit engraved in English. He also assessed the silver content at .800 or higher. The case measures 4 7/8" x 3 1/8" -- just right for serving as a small photo frame rather than a cigarette case!
